If you are unwell and cannot possibly work any longer, it is time to write a resignation letter with immediate effect.
But writing one, where you are not giving your employer a chance to hire and train someone before you leave, is not easy.
You may have signed an agreement stating that you will provide notice of your intent to go. That will be tricky to negate.
However, health issues cannot be ignored either, especially if they are so severe that you are unable to work.
There are ways to work around the contract agreement.
You can mention that you agree to bear the consequences of resigning immediately, which may include severed pay or the employer holding your benefits payouts.
Resignation letters of this sort need to be carefully worded. You cannot offend the employer, a person who has given you an opportunity to build a career and has paid you well for it.
Be sensitive to his needs as well. Do not ask for leeway at all.
Agree to all that is written in your employee contract about immediate resignations and apologize for inconveniencing the employer.
