Dental Assistant Letter of Interest Sample

Letters of interest for the dental assistant positions are more or less the same as cover letters – with a small difference.

A cover letter is usually written in response to an advertisement. On the other hand, a letter of interest is written when a job opening is not obvious but a candidate wants to work for a company. The latter is usually written to determine if an available position is there and if the company or hiring manager is actively looking to fill it.

Writing a dental assistant letter of interest is perhaps a little more challenging than writing a dental assistant cover letter. This is because a cover letter is usually paced and does not need additional effort to convince a hiring manager of one’s worth.

But a letter of interest requires a lot of effort because you are trying to convince the employer to hire you or consider you for future openings. You have to be an exceptionally good candidate for the hiring manager to consider you.

Sometimes, a position may not be open but if you are a good candidate, you will be given due consideration. Since there is a chance of this happening, it is important for you to send your letter of interest.

The following is an example for you to follow:

Mr. Ray Charles
Hiring Manager
Great Expressions Dental
9770 Broadway Road
Canton, SD 52900

Dear Mr. Charles:

I am interested in obtaining a current or future position as a Dental Assistant at Great Expressions Dental. I believe that my exceptional chairside skills and extensive experience with high profile dental facilities will be of great use to you.

While working at Dental Aesthetics on Main Avenue, I have been provided with extensive exposure to maintaining a sterile environment, anticipating armamentarium and specific equipment, and initiate operatory preparations. In addition to this, I have been specially trained in taking intra-oral and extra-oral panorex radiographs which require one to be exceptionally hands-on and meticulous.

Apart from providing expected chairside assistance to a dentist, I am well-versed in handling the administrative end of a dental facility, by employing skills in scheduling appointments, maximizing room utilization through inventory and stocking, and ensuring that insurance and registration intake activities are properly managed.

I would appreciate it if you would keep my professional profile (and the enclosed resume) in mind when looking to fill the position of a dental assistant at your facility. I can be contacted at (000) 547-6012 for any further information that you might need.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

(Signature)
Craig Mason
