Assuming that an employer will know what your cover letter is for (and not mentioning it in the cover letter) is the biggest mistake that you can make. You may feel that the purpose of your cover letter is obvious to an employer but that may not be so. You might argue that a cover letter for electronic sales associate resume is written only for the purpose of landing an interview. That is true but if you are not proactive enough to mention it specifically, chances are that you will not be granted an interview. Ending your letter with a statement that depicts your interest in meeting the employer face to face, can take you to the end of the road quickly and effortlessly.
For every sentence that an employer reads he thinks “So what?” and “How does it matter to me?” So for every sentence that you write, you have to think the same – and then attempt at answering these questions. Don’t list a bunch of skills without putting in the cause and effect theory. I have these skills which help me do that for your company – these are the lines along which your cover letter should be written.
The main purpose behind writing a cover letter is to tell the employer that there is an individual out there who is a perfect match for the company’s requirements. Following is a cover letter sample for an electronic sales associate position that does just this:

Dear Ms. Rover:
I am interested in applying for an Electronic Sales Associate position at Delta Electronics. I would like you to get the credit for adding ROI to the Delta Electronics sales teams. Specifically, I want to become your newest sales professional. And perhaps the best way of linking these two is with this graph that shows how I am performing in an electronic sales associate position at Alpha Electronics:
My electronic sales qualifications are briefly mentioned on the next page i.e. my resume. If you look closely, you will see that my resume is not mere recitation of job titles and responsibilities. Also, you will notice that I have many sales competencies that I want to put at your disposal as soon as I join.
Since I mostly use a consultative approach to sales, I would like to hear your take on Delta Electronics sales needs in your own words. Let’s meet soon to take this liaison further. May I call you in a few days to arrange a meeting? Please contact me at (012) 212-8888.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
