Chef Cover Letter Example

Updated on November 19, 2015

Attention grabbing cover letters for chef resume are few and far between – at least for hiring managers who long to read ones that can truly communicate with them on a level they crave. It is not an impossibility. When you have something to say to the employer, you can do so by merely carving out your best skills and qualifications – on a cover letter – and present them in a way that you know no one else has done before.

Since job seekers put their best efforts to make a compelling cover letter, you might find it somewhat difficult to do so. No fear! There is a trick to it. Well, not so much a trick! Each individualized chef cover letter should be a memorable storyteller that the reader just cannot forget! If you are not such a great storyteller, you might resort to writing information that is out of the ordinary so that your cover letter does not mix in with the others and becomes a blur.

Maximizing message readability should be the criterion for each cover letter that you write. Oh yes! Did we forget to mention that you must never send the same cover letter to two or more employers? Each employer you attempt to contact should be made to feel important by writing a customized cover letter. It does both you and the employer a great favor.

And here comes a great cover letter sample for a chef resume:

Mr. Dann Cobb
Restaurant Manager
The Tree Lounge
8723 Tower Avenue
Centralia, WA 98532

Dear Mr. Cobb:

As the winner of Master Chef America (2014) and 5 times winner of the Washington Foodies, I am certainly qualified to work as a chef at the Tree Lounge.

Let me focus your attention on some the skills that led me to such positive notoriety in the culinary world:

• Specialized courses in culinary trends, international cuisines and healthier food alternatives
• Hands-on experience in developing menus and recipes according to local clientele and tweaking existing ones to meet the changing requirements of clients
• Demonstrated ability to create aesthetically pleasant and palatable world cuisines with minimal effort

If you are in need for a chef who is dedicated to his work, has proven culinary acumen and can comfortably adapt his cooking skills to meet the diverse needs of customers, then I am your best possibility. I would like to hear your requirements in your own words, for which I will call you so that a meeting time can be set. In the interim, I can be reached at (333) 333-3333.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
