A great way to hook an employer is to begin your cover letter with a quote.
However, if you do not have enough experience and skills to talk about, you may be perceived as a poet without point which is not going to do you any favors.
Writing a quote that you feel is related to how you want the employer to perceive you is difficult, as he may not understand the relevance, making it look like your private joke!
You can use this angle only if you are sure of your audience. And if your audience is a reader who is known for giving curt answers, has a short fuse and is looked upon as someone not too pleasant, you will need to change your approach.

Work that you have done and accomplishments you have achieved = what the company is looking for.
Researching the company online can provide you with an edge to show why your skills and competencies are right for the job.
While you needn’t gush with insincere praises about the company, intelligent compliments are staples of effective cover letters.
