Math Tutor Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: April 18, 2018

Are you applying for a math tutor position?

You must be very careful when writing your cover letter – more so than when applying for other positions.

Why is that so?

Because mathematics is a complex subject and if you have it in you to make it interesting for your students, you can be a sure success.

Cover letters are a great (and probably the only) way of telling a potential employer that you have a service to offer – something special that not everyone has. So you need to get into the groove and get things sorted so that you can actually be the best choice that they have!

Writing a cover letter that details your work personality is what you need to do. But do not leave out the fact that you are a great individual as well. Employers like hiring people who can be a positive influence on their organization – in the case of a tutor, on their children.

So get those creative juices in action and write a cover letter that is sure to open some eyes. Here is a sample that you can use:

The Tutors’ Guild
2102 Holy Cross Avenue

Dear Ms. Rover:

As a passionate educationalist who can make students love mathematics – even those who have a hard time coping with its complexities at school – I am positive that you will be interested in finding out why I consider myself an excellent candidate for a Math Tutor position at Tutors’ Guild.

The mathematics curriculum is all very well but my concentration goes a step beyond:

• Meaningful learning of mathematics course competencies and supporting all facets of the learning environment.
• Encouraging a culture of learning that values mutual responsibility and respect.
• Boosting students’ ability to develop a systematic approach to studying mathematical concepts learned in regular classrooms.
• Tutoring students in all aspects of activities associated with mathematics labs such as basic algebra, statistics, calculus and differential equations.

If you seek a mathematics tutor who teaches with a difference, let us meet and discuss how my technical knowledge and leadership skills can help achieve your institute’s strategic objectives. I will call your office at the end of next week and ask for an interview time and date that is in sync with your schedule. Alternately, you can get in touch with me at (000) 333-1414.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
