Writing a self-introduction email to new colleagues and supervisors on the first day at work is the way forward.
When a new person is hired, there is usually a lot of speculation about him or her.
To put all this at ease, it is a good idea to break the ice through an email.
Also, you may feel that your new workplace is a bit hostile, (even if it isn’t really) and in order to make yourself comfortable, you must write an email.
What should be written in a self-introduction email on your first day at work?
- Start with your name and designation.
- Move on to writing how happy you are that you have been chosen to work in a particular organization.
- Do mention that you are looking forward to meeting everyone, and connecting with them in a professional capacity.
To see how you can write one, take a look at the following sample:
Self-Introduction Email Sample First Day Work
Dear All Staff Members:
I have recently joined as a marketing executive at Fulton Retail Services and would like to introduce myself.
My name is Mike Hannigan, and I have worked in a similar capacity at Macy’s for two years. Having aspired to work at Fulton Retail Services for a long time, I am ecstatic that I finally got the opportunity.
One of the main reasons that I wanted to work here was all of you – yes, you read that right. I had heard fantastic things about the marketing team at Fulton Retail Services and wanted to become part of the gang for a pretty long time.
Now that I am here, I am sure that I will learn a lot from each one of you. To give you a little idea about myself, I was working in a marketing capacity which offered great opportunities to do big things. After implementing all that I could provide to the organization, I decided to move to a place where I could contribute more, and learn further.
It would be great if I could meet all of you at lunchtime today so that we can get to know each other. I would love to help in any way that I can with your projects and would appreciate heads-up about the work since I am new here.
Here’s to a productive time together!
Sincerely,
Mike Hannigan
Marketing Executive
