EMT Cover Letter No Experience

Updated on January 28, 2020

An EMT’s cover letter, especially when you have no experience in hand, should be written to impress. Technically, the cover letter should focus on the individual’s training as an EMT, and their ability to handle emergent situations with professionalism.

Since the decision to hire an EMT will be based on how well they have written a cover letter, it is imperative to focus on providing skills information primarily.

No experience as an EMT should not be a deterrent if you have skills, knowledge and training. And it is these two things that you need to focus on.

When writing a cover letter for an entry-level EMT, emphasize your knowledge of conducting a careful examination of patients, and providing prompt and efficient care.

Also, your cover letter must inform the hiring manager that you can effectively manage the orderly transfer of patients to hospitals.

Mr. Tobie Guise
Human Resources Manager
Lifeguard Ambulance Services

Lake Charles, LA 54021

Dear Mr. Guise:

I have recently obtained training as an EMT and would love to become a working member of Lifeguard Ambulance Services. I have had the opportunity to offer my services in a similar role during a summer volunteer work stint, and possess good knowledge of what the work is all about.

I pride myself on my ability to conduct a careful examination of patients to look for signs and symptoms of illness and injury. I am competent in providing prompt and efficient care, focusing on patient stability before transport. Besides, I can provide careful handling of patients during transit to the hospital.

I can bring the kind of contribution that will increase efficiency in reaching patients and stabilizing their conditions in time. Specifically, my skills include the following:

• Knowledge of operating emergency vehicles in a safe manner
• Exceptional skills in efficiently responding to dispatcher callouts
• Highly knowledgeable about assessing the nature and extent of emergencies
• Proficient in assessing patients’ conditions, and responsiveness to interventions

I am enclosing my resume with this letter so that you may further gauge my suitability for the position of EMT. I will contact you in a week to see if an interview can be arranged. Thank you for considering my credentials for the EMT position at Lifeguard Ambulance Services. I look forward to learning more about this challenging opportunity.

Sincerely,

Freddie Curry
