Job Summary

The Dietary Aide supports the nutritional well-being of residents by preparing and serving meals under the supervision of the Dietary Manager. This role ensures that residents receive appetizing, nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs and preferences while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meal Preparation: Assist with the preparation and plating of food according to standardized recipes and residents’ dietary requirements.
  • Serving Meals: Serve meals to residents in a timely, courteous manner, ensuring portion sizes are as prescribed.
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment. This includes washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and managing waste.
  • Dietary Compliance: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure compliance with all dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences of each resident.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in the receipt, storage, and organization of food supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock rotation and minimizing waste.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, nursing staff, and other dietary team members regarding meal preferences, concerns, and any issues that arise.

  • High School Diploma or GED: Required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a dietary aide role, preferably in a nursing home or healthcare setting.

  • Skills:
