1. Tell me about yourself.
I am a results-oriented school superintendent with 10+ years of experience in hand. Prior to this, I was a principal in one of the schools of the same district. Education is a way of life for me. I have many accomplishments to show in this role, over the years that I have spent working in education.
2. What duties have you performed in the role of a school superintendent?
As a school superintendent, I have performed many tasks, including developing and implementing educational programs and performing teacher training activities. Also, I have been responsible for overseeing school budgets and assessing student performance and achievements. Moreover, my work involves administering schools in conformity with adopted policies of the board, and the rules and regulations of the state.
3. What skills do you possess, which make you an excellent school superintendent to hire?
I am well-versed in many areas, including student and teacher assessment, and evaluating curriculum and educational programs. I possess demonstrated expertise in creating and implementing operational budgets and reviewing and revising academic policies.

I wouldn’t call it the most difficult thing, but it was certainly challenging. One of the principals of a district school wanted to leave mid-year, which could have been disastrous for the school. It took all that I had to convince her to stay until the end so that the school year could be completed without any hiccups.

My greatest weakness is my inability to be harsh with anyone. While I am firm, it takes quite a lot for me to reprimand my staff.

I feel that schools improve most when they are rewarded for their achievements. High-performing schools should always be praised, and given extra help to perform even better.

Low performing schools need great evaluation and assistance. I always make sure that I encourage low-performing school staff members so that they can do their absolute best.
18. What is your philosophy on delegating authority?
As I am not a micromanager, I believe in delegating authority to the right people and then waiting for results. Sometimes, I have to intervene to determine if the work is being done properly or not.

I do not need to motivate myself too much, as I am in a constant state of motivation. I love my work, which makes it easy for me to stay encouraged.
