Sample Letter for Issuance of Experience Certificate

Updated on: May 21, 2023

Experience letters can make a huge difference in an individual’s work prospects.

An employee leaving an organization should ask for an experience or reference letter to ensure that his experience is portrayed appropriately in front of prospective employers.

Most companies do not provide ex-employees with experience certificates unless asked for. So it is important to point out here just how to ask for one. It is a good idea to put a request on paper so that the HR department has a record of it.

Here is how you will ask for the issuance of an experience certificate.

Dear Ms. Davidson:

As you are aware, I am leaving Creative Solutions by the end of this month. It has been quite an amazing journey, and I do not think that I will ever find an employer who can teach me – as much as I learned here – or work with better peers.

I will be leaving Orange Beach in the middle of October, and I will need some time to settle in Gadsden before joining of my new job. I already collected all relevant documents except my experience certificate which I had overlooked when applying for my release documents. I would appreciate it if you process this as soon as possible so that I can get all my materials ready for my departure.

I spent an incredibly productive time at Creative Solutions and will miss it much. I hope to be able to work with you again soon and look forward to a continued alliance in the future.

Thank you very much for your continuous support throughout my tenure at your office.

Sincerely,
