Emergency Leave Request for Tomorrow

Updated: November 25, 2021

An emergency leave requirement warrants a letter to your immediate supervisor.

Even though you may feel that you can talk to him or her and take a day off, it’s always best to maintain a record.

Writing an emergency leave application letter for the next day will require you to highlight the issue.

  1. What is it that you want to do tomorrow?
  2. Why is it so important that you have to take a day off?
  3. What if there is a deadline looming?
  4. How will you make up for lost time?

All these things need to be taken into account when writing a leave application letter.

Providing your supervisor with information on the entire issue will help you in obtaining the leave without much hindrance. Being honest is necessary. Even more important is providing details.

Here is a sample leave application letter for when you want to take a day off the very next day:

Emergency Leave Request for Tomorrow

Subject: Leave Application

Dear Mr. Miner:

I am writing to request a one-day off tomorrow as I have some pressing work to see to. Upon conferring with the human resources officer, I see that I have enough leaves available to be able to do this.

Tomorrow, I have been asked to speak at the local orphanage where I volunteer during weekends. The event was planned for a day and the notice provided to me was short. However, I cannot refuse as there are over 70 children who are looking forward to this event and expect me to come and deliver a talk. Since this will be a great opportunity to reach out to all children and to encourage them to accomplish extraordinary feats, I do not what to miss it.

Also, there are no pressing engagements in my work calendar tomorrow, which is why I believe that I can easily take the day off. The one meeting that I had tomorrow was postponed by the client three hours ago. I am just waiting for approval from your end.

I appreciate the fact that you have always been supportive of my endeavors both within, and outside the office. And I expect that this request will be taken in a positive light as well. A quick response from your end will make things easier for me to manage.

Sincerely,

Candace Cameron
