What qualifies you to work as an RN supervisor at our hospital?

I have over 5 years of experience working in a supervisory role, within a nursing capacity. In fact, my leadership skills are so exceptional that I have received many accolades from my supervisors.

In addition, I am well-versed in providing one on one care to patients, and ensure that other nurses provide the right type of care, in accordance with set care plans. Handling administrative responsibilities associated with the work is another area that I am competent in.

In your opinion, what type of an individual must be hired as an RN supervisor?

I believe that a person with excellent leadership qualities, and who has in-depth knowledge of nursing work should be hired for this position.

Tell us if your most important duty in the role of an RN nurse supervisor?

Even though I consider my entire work very important, choosing the right nurses to hire, and training them is quite an important thing to do when working as an RN nurse super.

Can you recount a time when you did something and came out shining?

Recently, I was required to hire and train an entire team of nurses from within the hospital, for a newly built oncology wing. Owing to my experience and exceptional qualities in choosing the right people for the right job, I managed to build a team that successfully managed the wing from day one. I believe that was quite an achievement.

Where do you rate your work and abilities on a scale of one to 10, 10 being the highest?

I would rate myself at an 8.

How do you feel about working in a supervisory role? Do you feel that authority can get out of hand at times?

I feel quite honored to work as an RN supervisor. And you are right – authority is a great responsibility, and one has to ensure that it is dealt with properly. After all, you do not want patients to suffer because you feel that you are at the top of the chain, and can do anything that you wish.
