The main idea behind hiring a medical receptionist is to ensure that the front desk of a medical facility is properly handled. Medical receptionists are the first people that patients and visitors meet when they enter a medical facility. They are responsible for managing the facility’s scheduling needs. They assist patients in filling out forms, obtain insurance information, move patients through appointments, and collect co-pays and payments.
2. What is the most important skill that you can offer as a medical receptionist?
Apart from being patient and pleasant, I am exceptionally well-organized, with a great ability to manage a large amount of work within a short period of time.
3. What is your experience with insurance companies?
As a medical receptionist, I am in touch with several insurance companies on any given workday. I contact them to determine statuses of unpaid claims, resubmit claims and verify patients’ insurance coverages.
4. On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, where would you rate patient confidentiality?
Probably at 10! As a medical receptionist, I have a lot of personal and confidential information about patients. As the code of ethics dictates (emphasized by my inherent ethical code), patient information confidentiality is of the utmost importance within a medical facility.
