Skill Set for Psychology Graduate

When you are an experienced individual (does not matter which area), you have a lot to say about your skills in a resume.

When you are not, you may find yourself in a quandary where stating skills are concerned. There isn’t a lot to worry about. Even if the experience is not your best friend, you can still possess skills that will be interesting to hiring managers.

Writing the skills section is essential on many levels as you have to convince a hiring manager that you are eligible for a job. If you are a fresh graduate, you must make sure that you can leverage what you possess to the benefit of the employer.

This is done after a thorough self-analysis. You need first to know what your capabilities are before you can put them on a resume. As a graduate, you must have learned something while in college, or through an internship position.

Any volunteer work that you have held will also help you in determining what your inner capabilities are. Put all these on a piece of paper, and then reflect upon them. See which part of your skills truly do justice to the job for which you are applying.

• Well-versed in administering psychological tests, and assessing outcomes to determine the route of treatment.

• Adept at conducting research work, to identify underlying causes of emotional and mental problems, and recommending viable solutions.

• Proficient in reviewing relevant literature, and synthesizing evidence-based materials, to determine treatment courses.

• Able to devise treatment plans, and make changes and modifications to them to ensure efficacy.

• Highly skilled in performing coordinated care for clients, suffering from chronic illnesses.

• Exceptionally skilled in helping and implementing treatment plans, and therapeutic processes.
