Pharmacy techs are part of the support staff at a pharmacy. They perform a multitude of tasks including preparing prescriptions and assisting customers by dispensing medication.

Most of a pharmacy technician’s work is office-related, which includes keeping the inventory of medicines available, ensuring proper stocks and packaging, and distributing medication. Some pharmacy technicians are also licensed to give IM injections.
