UPS Driver Helper Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: March 4, 2018

It is the uniqueness of a cover letter that manages to impress a hiring manager, forcing him to take your application to the next level.

If your cover letter says the same things as those that the hiring manager has read before, there is very little chance of it going further than the trash bin. Look at this way – hiring managers need something new to sink their teeth into, and an age-old formula of writing a cover letter is no good to them.

Going through older cover letters, see where you need to make amendments. You can also rewrite your cover letter from scratch, giving it a better shape. It all depends on how you want to go about it, but the end result should be an impressive piece of writing.

If your cover letter has some percentage of the information that a hiring manager is looking for, you have it covered.

Here is a sample:

Mr. Arnold Greene
Human Resource Manager
United Parcel Services
300 Woodsedge Road
Eads, TN 64885

Dear Mr. Greene:

Working as a driver helper at the UPS office back in Cleveland for 3 years, I am now quite experienced in the way this work is handled. Extensive comprehension of assisting delivery drivers in loading and unloading their trucks, effectively communicating with dispatchers, providing navigation assistance, and handling paperwork are areas that you will find me most proficient in.

Perhaps my biggest achievement while working as a UPS driver helper has been to safely deliver an expensive parcel to an important client while being under threat of robbery. The fact that I am a responsible individual adds to the list of reasons why I should be hired for this position.

As a physically strong and dexterous individual, I can lift and carry over two hundred packages a day. Additionally, I am exceptionally talented in recording delivery information in predefined company formats, and can effectively create and maintain solid communication with dispatchers throughout the course of my shift.

Offering diligence, resourcefulness, and accuracy, I believe that I should be considered for the position of a driver helper at United Parcel Service. I am sure that you too will agree that I am a great contender for this position once you have met with me in person. I will call you soon to arrange a meeting and can be reached at (333) 333-3333 in the meantime.

Sincerely,

(Signature)
