Medical Driver Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: October 4, 2017

There was a time when the basic reason anyone would write a cover letter was to give Medical Driver job application set a “look”. Over the years, this has changed into something much more profound.

A Medical Driver cover letter has a deep purpose now, which is to make sure that the accompanying resume is read – typically, a cover letter is written to encourage a hiring manager to make the most of the resume that it is covering.

Cover letters for Medical Driver position must be written following a lot of effort and hard work. Writing one for the sake of writing one is killing its purpose.

Making sure that you put everything that you are capable of doing in a cover letter will ensure that it reaches out to a hiring manager in a way that is most appropriate. Anything less will just serve to annoy him or her, resulting in your resume being ignored.

To see how you can make sure that this doesn’t happen, have a look at the following cover letter sample:

Dear Mr. Holden:

Hoping to acquire a Medical Driver position at A Team Transports, I offer the enclosed resume for your consideration.

I have worked in both the capacities of an emergency and a non-emergency medical driver, with my experience spanning 10 years. Owing to my excellent driving judgement, and due regard for public safety during my time of operating assigned vehicles, I have often been called upon to assist medical units in transporting patients, lab samples, and documents, when the need for speed, confidentiality, and safety was highest.

Responding to all assigned calls in an appropriate and safe manner, ensuring that situations are quickly assessed and dealt with is my forte.

Urgency and meticulousness are part of my nature – as an individual who has had extensive experience in driving medical units such as vans and transits, I am well-versed in transporting patients with mobility challenges safely to and from doctors’ appointments, and can easily follow protocol when transporting important medical documents and samples.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to speaking with you to discuss how I might mak a positive contribution to your transport department.

Sincerely,

Gregory House
