Entry Level Mail Carrier Cover Letter No Experience

Updated on: August 18, 2016

Entry level does not necessarily mean “no skills”. In fact, skills are all that one has to depend on when writing a cover letter for an entry level position. While some skills are only polished when you are an actual part of the employment world, some are gained through education, internships and apprenticeships. And it is these skills that you have to build up on in a cover letter.

Cover letters are seldom about experiences – in fact, they are more about qualifications and skills than anything else. An employer will only be interested in you if you present a positive side of you – things that you can do and contributions that you can make. Everything else becomes secondary. Cover letters say little else than I am the right person because my skills are great and your organization could use a person like me to succeed further. Do not bank on experience when writing a cover letter for an entry level position, as your experience may not be relevant to the job that you are now applying for.

Dear Mr. Greene:

Owing to a recent internship at the Custer Mail Office (right after graduating from high school), I am somewhat familiar with handling mail – both delivery and collection. With exceptional knowledge of all classes of mail, including registered, insured, certified and special delivery, I believe that I will be instantly contributory in the position of a mail carrier.

Some of my abilities that I am sure you will be interested in include:

• Deep insight into selling stamps and supplies, and accepting applications for postal money orders.
• Familiar with furnishing all vehicle equipment necessary for safe and prompt handling of mail.
• Able to accurately and promptly deliver mail to residences and business establishments along specified routes.
• Competent in maintaining accurate records of deliveries and returns, with special focus on ensuring confidentiality of all sensitive information.

I am eager to meet with you and will contact you next week to arrange for an interview at your convenience. In the meantime, please feel free to contact me at (000) 741-7854 or ashtonkct @ myemail . com if you require any further information.
