Judicial Clerk Recommendation Letter Sample

Updated on: July 28, 2018

A well-written and well-structured recommendation letter can significantly increase your chances of being considered for a judicial clerk job. Once your cover letter and resume have done their magic, it is time for the recommendation letter to do it further.

And if you are on this side of the table, where you have to write one, your main aim should be to help a candidate obtain a job.

As a recommender, it is your job to ensure that the letter that you write is full of praise for the applicant. Remember that any negative things that you want to write about him or her should stay out! If you feel that you cannot honestly write a few paragraphs to portray an individual positively, decline to write a recommendation letter.

There is one thing that you must do before you begin writing a letter of this sort – no matter how well you know the person, make a conscious effort to get to know his or her aspirations once again. The more you know about him or her, the better your content will turn out.

To see how you can write a recommendation letter for a judicial clerk, have a look at the following example:

To Whom It May Concern

It is my pleasure to provide this letter of recommendation for Sarah Knight as she seeks employment as a Judicial Clerk. I have known Sarah for 2 years now, as she has worked as a judicial clerk under my supervision since the time she was sworn in. As her trainer and mentor, I am aware of the amazing ways in which she manages to learn even the most complex of things, often helping in things that one would not expect her to know.

Sarah is a delightful young professional, who is passionate about her work, and goes an extra mile to help and learn. With her addition to the courtroom, filing, data entry, and record maintenance work has become so easy to navigate – she earned quite a commendation from her seniors due to her invaluable help with records updating and retrieval during a fiery courtroom session.

She is courteous and patient – her organization skills can be seen from the various ways in which she has handled documentation work, and her success in implementing indexing systems, which are so futuristic that I believe that the courtroom will be using it for at least another decade!

I give my full recommendation to Sarah, as I believe in her ability to be a great contributor to the role of a judicial clerk.
