Floral Assistant Interview Questions and Answers

What makes it worth your while to work as a floral assistant?
People are not wrong when they say that you should work only in a capacity that you enjoy. And I love creating something aesthetically pleasing with my hands, using something that I love – nature. This love for flowers is what makes working as a floral assistant worth my while.

What work have you performed in this capacity, in an earlier role?
As a floral assistant, I have been diligently assisting florists in handling customers’ orders, both in a walk-in capacity and for events. This includes taking orders, suggesting floral arrangements, and ensuring that the right arrangements are made following provided instructions. In addition to this, I have been actively assisting in handling the payments part of the work, ensuring that assigned POS systems are properly operated and that any issues in cash drawers are resolved immediately.

What has been your highest achievement up till now?
For the 4th of July celebrations last year, I was asked to handle the floral arrangements at The Big Square. It was so well-received that the council members gave me an impromptu award for it, making it the first one in the history of Concord city.

How do you handle the stress of this work, especially where deadlines are concerned?
I am a highly organized individual, who makes sure that deadlines for floral arrangements, especially where events are concerned, are handled profoundly. Since the work of a floral assistant is tricky as one has to work with fresh flowers, and any delays or even early arrangements can mess up an entire event, I keep my timelines in check, which eventually keeps my deadlines in check!

What is the most challenging thing about working as a floral assistant?
To be perfectly honest, I don’t see anything that is too difficult in this work. I am so comfortable with working in this capacity that I don’t mind challenges if and when they come my way.

What are your future career aspirations?
At the moment, I am taking baby steps, so that I can learn the ropes correctly, and not rush up the career ladder. Eventually, I would like to lead a florist shop; once my expertise is a little more polished.
