1. What is it that you like about working as a floral clerk?

I have always had a love for flowers, and since I believe that one should only work in a capacity that one enjoys, working as a floral clerk was a great option. I love everything about the work, both the aesthetics involved and the associated activities.

2. What skills does one need in order to successfully work as a floral clerk?

I believe that one needs to possess a great aesthetic sense for starters. In addition to this, it is imperative for a person working in this position to know exactly which flowers complement each other, and how they can be arranged and cut so that they remain fresh for longer. Also, it is important to understand temperature control for each flower type and handle customer service tasks associated with the work.

3. As a floral clerk, what have been some of your main duties in the past?

Working as a floral clerk, I have been responsible for managing the different aspects of the work, including customer greeting, conversing with customers to determine their floral arrangement choices, providing suggestions, and creating and displaying aesthetically pleasing displays and orders, according to the specific instructions of each customer.

4. How do you feel about working in an environment where you may have to be on your feet for long periods of time?

I believe that if one enjoys the work, being on one’s feet is no issue, unless there is a health issue involved. I love my work and do not mind being on my feet most of the day.

5. What is the one accomplishment that you have to your name, which you are proud of?

I was recently commissioned to create a display of flowers in the theme of the new Star Wars movie, at a fan party. It was a 60 feet wide display, which took 82 hours to build. But it came out to be beautiful, and is my biggest achievement so far!

6. Where do you see yourself in the next few years, professionally speaking?

I intend to start my own flower business, for which, I am still learning the ropes.
