Best Staff Accountant Cover Letter

Updated on March 5, 2018

A staff accountant cover letter is nothing more than an “I have what you need” letter.

A cover letter is written to provide hiring authorities with enough information that they can use to process your application positively.

The information that you provide in a cover letter can go a long way in determining what type of a person you are, and what you bring to the table regarding work prowess and knowledge.

Writing a staff accountant cover letter in the standard manner does no justice to it. You have to make your cover letter stand out so that it quickly grabs the hiring manager’s attention and keeps him focused on you.

Remember that there will be other people who will be as qualified as you are for a job, and will also be fighting tooth and nail to win the hiring manager’s favor. What you write in your cover letter will determine who the winner will be.

For a staff accountant position, here is a cover letter sample that you can tweak to your requirements:

Mr. Kyle Rebel

Dear Mr. Rebel:

If you could design the perfect Staff Accountant, would the following meet your robust specifications?

• A senior staff accountant with a solid track record of efficiently supporting financial functions such as annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and monthly reporting activities.

• A recognized expert in the hard practicalities of resolving payment application discrepancies to ensure client balance accuracy.

• A leader known for skills in facilitating credit qualification reviews and analyzing cash receipt patterns.

You have just read the Reader’s Digest version of my resume! Building upon it, I would like to call your attention to my skills in managing both billing and renewals processes, analyzing information and options by developing core spreadsheet reports, and preparing payments by accruing expenses and reconciling accounts.

Presently working for an organization that highly values my contributions to its accounting processes, I would now like to extend my services to Sunstate Security, where I am confident that I will be a  contributory factor in the role of a staff accountant.

Offering accounting expertise, enthusiasm, commitment, and purpose, I would like to meet with you in person to discuss how your organization will benefit from my knowledge. I will contact your office soon and can be reached at (000) 874-5247 if required.

Sincerely,

Edward Wesley
