Is it necessary to officially inform employer before two weeks of resignation?

Well, if you work in the United States or Canada, the answer depends on the terms and conditions of your employment contract.

You do not need to give 2 weeks’ notice of resignation in any form, if you’re not working under a contract that demands the same. Or else, you work in a state or province that holds the employment-at-will Policy. (Practically, all states or provinces do to a large extent), you might just leave the door if you desire. That’s for the reason that employment-at-will principally means, under universal law and in the absence of an official contract, your service is presumed to be voluntary and indistinct for both employees and employers.

Examples of Resignation Letter on 2 Weeks’ Notice

In the following examples of 2 week notice letter, you will note that employees do not state much more than leaving. So, in your resignation letter, you should emphasize positive things and mention how the corporation has benefited you, and foremost, mention your date to move on. Offer any kind of assistance during the changeover and afterwards. Don’t be pessimistic. There’s no point – you’re going to departure and you want to go away on good terms.
