Screen Printer Interview Questions and Answers

What has been your experience while working as a screen printer?
I find the work to be quite exciting, and right down my alley. I have learnt the intricacies of screen printing, and can effectively handle a wide variety of duties, including calibrating and setting up screen printing machines, operating machines to ensure that screen printing work is properly managed, loading ink into machinery, and ensuring that the right color is mixed, ensuring that quality end-product is achieved, and making sure that any issues or problems with machines are resolved in an urgent manner.

What skills set do you believe is required to work as a screen printer?
Working as a screen printer is not something that everyone can do. It is crucial to possess exceptional knowledge of handling a wide variety of work duties including setting up and calibrating screen printing machines and handling end product management work. Ability to ensure that quality metrics are taken into account, and in-depth knowledge of ensuring that the proper supplies are used is also required to work as a screen printer.

What is the toughest screen printing job that you have had to do?
I was recently asked to print 400 screen prints, all of which were of different dimensions and densities – all in one day! It took all the effort that I could muster (and 12 hours of overtime) to get the feat accomplished. I believe that it was the toughest job that I have been assigned until now.

How do you handle delays?
I don’t have to handle delays, to be honest. I plan my work in such a manner that delays do not transpire. All my work is done according to deadlines, and by ensuring that priorities are correctly set.

What made you decide that this is work that you wanted to create a career in screen printing?
I had been working in a printing and designing capacity for two years when I realized that print screening was something that I enjoyed immensely. A few big print screening projects later I was ready to make this my “thing.”

Professionally speaking, where do you see yourself three years from now?
I am in the process of learning the design elements attached to screen printing, and would eventually want to work as a graphic designer.
