Resignation letter writing time is filled with uncertainties. You are leaving a job that you probably love and it is difficult saying goodbye. Actually, it is even difficult if you are resigning from a job that you don’t like, as there may be some association to your position or the people you worked with. But resignation letters have to be written and they have to be written properly.
It does not matter what your state of mind is – a resignation letter from school teacher position needs to be written positively. Even if you hate your job and can’t wait to leave it, you need to be pleasant about it. If you use your resignation letter as a complaint letter, detailing your unhappiness, chances are that you will not be given due diligence when it is time for your leaving documents and payouts to be issued. Be adult in how you handle this.
A resignation letter is simply your intention to leave the job and to provide notice. The notice period is important. You need to follow the rules. If the organization that you are working for requires a 30 day notice, make sure you honor it. If no notice is required, give one anyway – maybe a few weeks – just to prove that you are conscientious.

Dear Ms. Jacobson:
It is a sorrowful time as I write this resignation letter from my position as Math Teacher for St. Peter’s Elementary School. As per the school’s policy, I am providing a 4 weeks’ notice of my intention to leave. Please note that December 29, 2015 will be my last working day.
I have decided to take a pause from teaching so that I can give my undivided attention to my son, who is suffering from a rare bone disease. I am afraid I have been ignoring this very important part of my life for some time and I can no longer do that.
Comprehending that I have responsibilities to my students, who are due to appear for their final exams soon, I propose that I begin training someone in my place immediately. If you would like to hire or recommend someone, please do so. If you need my suggestion, I have someone in mind.
Thank you for providing me with this opportunity – the training that you provided to me, made me who I am today. I will miss everything about this school and all the people I worked with and the children I taught.
