You might find writing your first cover letter difficult, but once you have been through the rigmarole of writing it, the next one will come easy. Cover letters hardly ever provide information regarding an individual’s experience.

On the contrary, they are designed to keep hiring managers acquainted with what a job seeker is capable of doing. Both skills and qualifications are what make up the ingredients of a cover letter.

The first thing that you need to keep in mind when writing a cover letter is what the employer needs. Addressing these needs in your letter is what will take you to level 2 – the interview stage.

A hiring manager must be made to feel that he or she has stumbled upon the best candidate there is for the job.

The following cover letter sample does this. Take a look!

Mr. Mark Jones
Principal
The Charter School of Wadsworth
122 Greyson Road
Wadsworth, OH 55544

Dear Mr. Jones:

I would like to offer my services as a Substitute Teacher at The Charter School of Wadsworth at the elementary level. I have worked in a similar capacity at St. Peter’s Elementary School, and I am well-versed with the demands and deliverables expected at this position. Let me further explain why I feel so well-suited for this position.

Complete comprehension of all major concepts related to grammar, science, general knowledge, mathematics, and other core subjects of the elementary level, makes me an excellent contender. Handling students so that they do not only manage the academic end of their education but are also encouraged to be contributory members of the school community is my aim.

I can truthfully brag that I am capable of leaving a lasting positive impression on students under my care. Furthermore, you will find it easy to rotate me in different classes owing to my ability to gel in well with students and make them comfortable with me.

In hopes of meeting with you in person to further highlight my ability to contribute to a substitute teacher role, I will contact you for an interview soon. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Sarah White
