Special Events Manager Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: September 14, 2015

The whole cover letter writing saga has been discussed a million times. But even then, it has not lost its essence. Good cover letter writing is important to the success of your job application. A well thought out cover letter speaks volumes about your suitability. Dull ones speak a lot about your disinterest.

For instance, if you are writing a cover letter for the position of a special events manager, you will need to put in a lot of creativity – because creativity is part of your work. When you talk creatively, you are actually helping the employer make decisions in your favor. As a special events manager, you will probably be doing a lot of multitasking. In your cover letter, you should be able to tell the employer that you are someone who can handle more than one task at a time – and come out shining.

Typically, cover letters are written to complement resumes. So if you have already prepared your resume, you must write a cover letter to provide the hiring manager with an introduction to yourself – and entice him to read the accompanying resume.

Since we are talking about special events managers, here is a cover letter sample that you can look through:

Dear Ms. John:

I recently met with Donna James from your firm, and she strongly recommended that I send you my resume. Knowing the requirements for your open position for a special events manager, she concluded that I am the ideal candidate. Your opening does seem to be tailor-made for my experience at Tropicana Entertainment. Let me explain how:

• Hands-on experience in planning and implementing plans for different types of special events, including corporate meetings, product launches, fashion parades, concerts and weddings
• Competent at negotiating space contracts, arranging catering services and handling vendor relations
• Verifiable track record of conducting research, making site visits and locating resources to assist in handling the details of each special event
• Focused on providing new ideas in a bid to improve event planning and implementation processes

Recognizing that you may be difficult to reach, I will check with your secretary on Monday to set a convenient time for us to meet. If needed, you can contact me at (000) 020-2323.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
