A cover letter to apply for an internship will require you to do your best.

Since you are applying for an internship, it is obvious that you do not have much experience in that area.

But it does not mean that you do not have skills. In fact, the only way that you can obtain an internship is by showing your skills and interest in the work.

Film Production Internship Cover Letter Writing Tips

In your cover letter for a film production intern, make sure that you highlight your specific interest.

Mention any past volunteer work or externships.

Tell the hiring manager why you feel that you are the best.

Build up on your skills. Tell the employer how you will be an excellent resource, despite lack of experience.

Don’t mention lack of anything specifically – just talk about your skills regardless of lack of anything!

Mr. Nigel Farage
Human Resources Manager
NBC Universal
400 Scranton Road
East Greenwich, RI40210

Dear Mr. Farage:

I recently graduated from East Greenwich University’s Film School. During my degree in filmmaking, I volunteered my services to a local film company, where I learned much about the work. At this point in time, I would like to obtain an internship position at NBC Universal.

My love for filmmaking stems from the time that I was given a personal tour of NBC Universal 5 years ago by a relative working there. Since then, I have been aspiring to become a film producer, and have worked hard to obtain my degree. When I was volunteering my services, I learned a lot, such as setting up props and items, assisting costume designers, and escorting actors around the set.

Moreover, I learned the art of scheduling timeslots for different shoots and copying and distributing scripts. Conducting crowd control is also one of my strongest points. In addition, I am well-versed in setting up lights and stands according to provided instructions.

The fact that I have an inherent interest in this work, and some volunteer experience makes me an excellent person to hire as an intern. While working as an intern, I will not only be learning more but contributing as well.

I will drop in next Monday in order to meet you if you have the time. Until then, I am available at (000) 763-0009 if you need to reach me. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Midge Pillar
