Expression of Interest for Customer Service Job

Updated on: April 1, 2018

An expression of interest is a cover letter, which is written in somewhat different circumstances than a regular cover letter.

You write a cover letter when you have something to bank on – an advertisement for a position, or mention of a job vacancy on a website.

An expression of interest is written in situations where clear vacancies are not announced.

You may have heard that there is a vacancy in a particular company, or maybe you want to find out if there is one. In either of these cases, writing an expression of interest letter makes excellent sense.

When you write an expression of interest letter, you have to use an enormous amount of your good sense. Since you do not have an advertisement through which you can determine what a hiring manager might want in a new employee, you need to check what information you provide.

Here is a sample of an expression of interest letter for a customer service representative job:

Mr. John Wilson
Human Resource Manager
Idex Corporation
90 Oak Avenue South
Crosby, TX20284

Dear Mr. Wilson

I would like to express my interest in a customer service representative position, a role that I am confident that I can do immense justice to. I have been in awe of the work that your company has been performing over the last decade, and would like to be an active contributor to its success.

With over three years of customer service experience, and exceptionally well-developed skills in this arena, I am confident that my addition to your team of professionals will be a welcome one. At my present place of work, I am considered a go-getter, and a “tiger” when it comes to handling customers whom other CSRs are unable to manage due to their (customers’) temperaments and high demands.

Providing exemplary services to ensure repeat business opportunities is my niche. In addition to this, I am a courteous individual, who can handle customers in person, on the telephone, and through emails, in a friendly, yet business-like fashion. Furthermore, hiring me for this position will mean that your company will benefit from my excellent upselling skills, allowing you to increase the number of your customers soon after I begin work.

If at the moment, you do not have a vacancy for a customer service representative, I would appreciate it if you would keep my job profile in mind when there is one. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

(Signature)

Mark Lee
