Creating compelling content in a pastor cover letter is very important for two reasons. The first one is that you have to be absolutely clear in what you intend to achieve through the cover letter. Secondly, because you want the job. Simple? Not really! Writing a cover letter with a “rock your world” quality is not easy. Impressing the prospective employer is important and your first chance to do so is always the cover letter. Don’t let this chance get out of your hand.
The whole idea behind writing a cover letter is to make sure that it touches the employer where it matters the most. If you can do this, you can deem the success of your cover letter at 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. If not, well, there is always next time to do better!

Dear Mr. Day:
As a dedicated individual who can provide spiritual oversight and leadership direction to church leaders and members, I may be the best choice for a Pastor position at Cross Roads Church.
My following talents will help you decide in my favor:
• Demonstrated expertise in handling preaching activities, along with providing leadership in sacraments and counseling members
• Highly experienced in championing the church’s mission statement and vision through implementation of outreach programs
• Effectively able to maintain a systematic program of member visitation and process redemptive discipline following the church’s specific guidelines
I am well aware of your specific discipline and place in the community, and will be able to effectively model and encourage spiritual development of community.
If possible, let’s meet after church services next Sunday so that we can discuss this further. If you need to contact me in the meantime, you may do so at (000) 121-4145.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
