6 Bread Baker Interview Questions and Answers

What can you possibly say in an interview for a bread baker position to convince the interviewer that you are the right person to hire? A lot, apparently.

You will be asked many questions regarding your knowledge of baking bread and other bakery items.

And you have to convince the hiring manager that you know the work inside out, and can effectively contribute to the facility.

1. What was your journey to the position of a bread baker?

I was working as a general baker when I realized my niche in bread baking specifically. I tried different recipes and methods and came up with excellent-tasting bread. Since then, I have been working as a bread baker.

2. Do you not want to diversify now?

As a matter of fact, my current work does not include only baking bread. Even though I am great at it, I do bake other items such as brownies, cupcakes, cakes, and scones.

3. What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love the overall world of baking. The aroma of freshly baked bread and other items makes me happier than I can ever be.

4. What skills do you possess which make you an excellent person to hire as a bread baker?

I am great at choosing the right ingredients for my bread, irrelevant of which bread they are. I can choose the methods, and combine ingredients so that they mix properly. And I know the right heat that each different type of bread needs to be baked on.

Setting ovens at the right temperature, and ensuring that proper maintenance is performed on all kitchen equipment is my niche. I am also well-versed in ensuring adequate rotation for baking ingredients so that they do not expire. And I can create and maintain relationships with vendors in order to ensure the timely delivery of supplies and ingredients.

5. What do you like least about your work?

To be honest, I do not dislike anything about my work, as I enjoy it all.

6. What are your 5-year plans?

Soon, I intend to start a gluten-free bread line, which I believe is the need for many customers now.
