If you are in search of an apprenticeship, then you need to learn how to write an attractive apprenticeship cover letter. A good cover letter introduces you to your prospective employer whilst highlighting most relevant skills, training and why you are specifically interested in working for a particular company.
Companies are in search of apprentices, internees or trainees who are trustworthy, passionate and eager to learn new things quickly. Include these traits in your cover letter to highlight that you are the right candidate for this position.
Keep in mind that an Apprenticeship Cover Letter is not a job application – it is just a short and precise letter that must always be attached/enclosed with any resume, folio or any other application document that you send to a prospective company. The key purpose and aim of any apprentice cover letter is to persuade the recruiter to read your resume and invite you in an interview.
2 Quick Tips
● Address your letter to a specific person (not ‘To Whom It May Concern’ or ‘Dear Sir / Madam’) and mention an exact job title.
● Never send a standard, ‘one-size-fits-all’ letter to all companies.
Look at the following apprentice cover letter sample. This sample is specific to Information technology profession. You may modify it as per your profession and requirements.

Re: IT Apprenticeship Position at Premier Systems
Dear Ms. Brown:
I would like to join Premier Systems as an IT Apprentice and eager to bring my enthusiasm and creativeness when working with computer networks of your clients.
My work experience of LAN/WAN installation, during my summer job at ABC Company, has helped me gain skills and knowledge associated with Computer Networks. I received the best employee of the month award due to my dedication, good performance and exceptional understanding of technical problems.
The response from the clients of ABC Company regarding my performance was very encouraging. Because of my high level of understanding of network protocols and my excellent communication skills, the customers for whom I served have recommended me the best Network Technician to their friends.
I would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss my suitability as an IT apprentice with Premier Systems through an interview. I will call you next week to follow-up on my application. Thank you for your time and consideration.
