• Perform cleaning duties by sweeping and mopping floors in patients’ rooms, surgical units, waiting areas, and offices.

• Mix correct amounts of cleaning and sanitizing agents and ensure that they are used in a safe manner.

• Perform sanitizing duties aimed at ensuring that all surfaces that will come in contact with humans are properly disinfected.

• Assist surgical staff in sanitizing and disinfecting surgical equipment and instruments, and throwing away used supplies.

• Perform waste management duties by collecting trash and hospital waste from receptacles and ensuring that it is safely disposed of in closed/sealed containers.

• Collect laundry from patients’ rooms on a daily basis and ensure that it is delivered to the assigned laundry room.

• Assist housekeeping staff in washing and disinfecting linen and towels, and perform ironing and folding activities.

• Deliver clean and disinfected linen and towels to patients’ rooms and surgical units on a daily basis, or several times a day.

• Replenish supplies such as soap, sanitizers, towels, and paper rolls in bathrooms and restrooms throughout the hospital.
