Music Teacher Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: January 10, 2022

It is incredible how much of a difference a good cover letter can make when it comes to the decision to hire you. Ordinary cover letters are terrible communicators.

Since the main idea behind writing a music teacher cover letter is to communicate with a prospective employer, it is imperative that you make an effort to write one which is spot on with his or her requirements.

There is so much content that you can write in your letter without making the hiring manager feel that you are an “over the top” kind of individual.

The basic idea behind writing one is to provide proof of what you can do and how you intend to do it.

Once it is communicated, you will have no problems in reaching out to a prospective employer on a level that he or she feels comfortable with.

Below is a sample cover letter for a music teacher resume.

Mr. Aaron Blake
Human Resource Manager
The Music Room
102 Saw Avenue
Crofton, MD 87032

Dear Mr. Blake:

Music has been my way of life ever since I can remember, and it is this passion that has led me to peruse a career in teaching music to students. My talents are not limited to providing deep insight into musical instruments and vocal training, but also in educating students about the backgrounds of each type of music. I am sure that I will be a credit to The Music Room in the role of a music teacher.

My most recent employment is with The National Music Academy, a one-of-its-kind project which is designed to provide students with deep insight into the history of music, and how it has evolved over the centuries. My work is not limited to educating students about music history though – in fact, I have been proactively teaching them much in terms of music production, including tracking, mixing, and mastering compositions.

At my present place of work, I am lovingly referred to as the jack of all instruments and master of most, as I am deeply familiar with playing guitars, drums, keyboards, and violins. Since I have also taught all these instruments to students over the last ten years, I am sure that my professional profile will be of great interest to you.

I believe that it is best if we meet in person so that I can give you a demonstration. To arrange a meeting, I will be in touch with your office after five working days. You may reach me at (000) 655-5874.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Joel Kirkland
