It is essential to write a waitress resignation letter before leaving time in order to inform your employer about your intent to leave from a waitress position.
We agree that writing waitress resignation letters is not easy because you might have developed an emotional attachment with the workplace, and the prospect of leaving can be sad. However, by writing a resignation letter, you give your employer a favor to look for someone to replace you.
It must be remembered that you have to give proper notice before leaving. If you leave without notice, then you might lose the opportunity of re-employment or obtain a good recommendation letter.
A waitress resignation letter should contain the following information:
- An employee’s intention to resign.
- Notice period according to the employment contract.
- Offer to train the replacement in order to ensure a smooth transition.
- Request for outstanding dues as well as job leaving documents.

Dear Mr. Josh:
Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from my position as Waitress on a two-weeks’ notice. Please note that September 20 will be my last working day.
I decided to resign because I need to relocate to Toronto, Canada, where my husband has been offered an attractive job that cannot be refused. Therefore, I have to move with him.
During the previous 7+ years at Captain’s Cook, I not only gained experience working in a restaurant environment but have also been extended my friendship network. By all means, all of my supervisors and colleagues helped me develop great communication, customer service, and hospitality skills, for which I am extremely grateful.
Before I leave, I would like to provide training to my replacement so that the customer flow is not disturbed. Please let me know if you have anyone in mind whom you would like me to train.
I would appreciate if you expedite my leaving documents as well as any accumulated dues in order to make this transition smooth.
Thank you very much for providing me with this fantastic opportunity.
