Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: October 1, 2022

Occupational Therapist Assistants provide community-based rehabilitation support services and implement treatment programs and therapy goals. They restore function and quality of life for individuals who have experienced impairments resulting from accidents.

The primary purpose of an Occupational Therapy Assistant cover letter is to get an interview, let us move on to the second reason, i.e., communication.

A cover letter is used to communicate to the employer the intangibles of a candidate such as career gaps or some skills that cannot be made evident in a resume.

I am confident that my expertise in carrying out therapeutic services would help me in achieving the targets of Premier Therapy. I’m particularly interested in working with Premier Therapy because it has developed a perfect reputation for providing quality occupational therapy services.

I offer 5 years of experience working with individuals with complex health needs, including acquired brain injury, mental health concerns, and physical impairment, as well as an OTA/PTA college diploma. The OTA must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Access to a vehicle is required.

Specifically, I am highly skilled in:

✓ Helping patients perform therapeutic activities
✓ Working with people who have developmental disabilities
✓ Teaching patients how to use particular equipment
✓ Recording patients’ development and reporting to occupational therapists
✓ Performing routine administrative and clerical tasks

My practice in this work makes me able to treat patients through activities specially designed to restore functions while keeping in mind the necessity to alter treatment when deemed appropriate and in the patient’s best interest. I am an expert in regular communication with the client’s regulated health professionals regarding progress and intervention strategies.

My resume is enclosed for your review. I am confident that my training and approach to work will be an asset to Premier Therapy.  I will call your office next week to set up an interview date and time. Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to meeting with you soon to discuss your expectations in detail.
