What have been your principal duties while working as an administrative supervisor in a previous role?
As an administrative supervisor, my prime duty was to ensure that the overall operations and administrative procedures of the company were well managed. This included ensuring that work duties were properly dished out, schedules were administered, payrolls were run, inventory was overseen, and crises management was performed.
What type of skills do you think an administrative supervisor requires to work successfully?
To be a successful administrative supervisor, one has to be extremely well-organized. Apart from this, it is imperative to be a good leader, possess exceptional crises management skills, know just how to handle inventory management activities, and possess excellent communication abilities.
Tell us of one of your achievements in an administrative supervisory capacity, which you are extremely proud of.
I have many achievements to my name in my 10-year long career. The one that I would pick is the time when I managed to overhaul the company’s inventory management system, saving them both time and money. And I managed this all on my own, which is an achievement in itself.
What is the most difficult part of working as an administrative supervisor?
I would call the work challenging but not difficult. I think difficulty only exists if you let it. And I try not to think along those lines.
Till date, what is the most important skill that you have developed, which you think helps you exceptionally when working as an administrative supervisor?
The ability to reach people on all levels is something that not everyone can manage. But I have proved time and again that my experience has taught me how to get along well with people from all walks of life.
Where do you see your career moving?
At the moment, I am content with where I am, because I still have a lot of learning to do. Eventually, I would like to head the operations department in a director’s capacity.
