Cover letters can be written in many ways but unless they are written profoundly, their impact is not felt.
Your cover letter is like your personality etched in stone.
Once you make an impression on an employer through it, it will be difficult to change it, so make sure that you do not make a bad one.
What you say in a cover letter is at your own discretion but try to stick as close as possible to what the employer is looking for.
Here is a sample for you to follow:
Olive Garden Server Cover Letter Example
July 7, 2022
Mr. Felix Garbo
Human Resource Manager
Olive Garden
9485 Berkshire Road
Export, PA 48069
Dear Mr. Garbo:
Having worked extensively in high-end (both fine and casual dining) restaurants, I am aware of the demands of a national restaurant chain such as Olive Garden. And at this point in time, I believe that I am well-trained and fully equipped to work here.
As a server who is experienced in assisting patrons with menu choices, and providing seamless hospitality services, you will not disagree that I am a great choice to hire. I have spent the last 4 years diligently taking orders and following up on them, handling portioning duties, serving food and beverage items, and ensuring overall patron satisfaction – without a single cause of complaint from either my peers or customers. Not only am I responsible for a large percentage of restaurant patrons at The Italian Express providing return business, but I have also contributed to the 25% increase in their customer base since January 2022. I am confident that I will be able to add greatly to Olive Garden’s already sparkling image in the industry with my conscientiousness and exceptional work ethic.
I can explain my prowess as a server in a more profound manner once I meet with you in person. I will contact you soon to ask for a mutually convenient time and date for an interview.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Sarah Johnson
