Sample Letter Stating That Someone Lives With You

Updated November 11, 2022

There are many instances when you have to write a letter requiring you to state that someone lives with you. You may have to write one for your friend, or for a family member such as a son or daughter.

Why would you want such kind of letter?

There could be many reasons.

For instance, the person living with you might want to enroll in a program that requires them to prove that they live in a certain area.

Or, he or she might be looking to rent an apartment where proof of residence may be required.

Whatever the reason is, when you write a letter stating that someone lives with you, you will need to follow a specific pattern.

Typically, your letter should state the person’s full name, relation to you, and the confirmation that he or she lives with you.

Since a letter of this kind will also require you to prove that the person you are writing it for is self-sufficient, you may need to prove that he or she helps pay bills as well.

To Whom It May Concern

I am writing on behalf of my daughter Sarah Blake Holmes, who is presently residing with me at 76 Pine Street, Greenville, SC.

Sarah is currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at a college near our house, which is why she has not opted to move. Also, she has been working part-time as a Cashier at Grover’s Mall. Not to mention, she is contributing financially to her household in many ways, such as grocery expenses, rent, and utility bills. At this point in time, she is interested in enrolling in the Weekend SOS Program, which she can easily handle along with her work schedule and education.

If there are any further questions or concerns that need to be addressed, please feel free to contact me at (000) 927-8872.
