What makes you an excellent candidate to hire as a concrete pump operator at our company?
I am exceptionally skilled when it comes to working in the construction industry, with my skills specifically lying in operating concrete pumps / machines, setting up and using tools associated with concrete pumps, and performing both preventative and general maintenance on assigned equipment. Additionally, I possess a strong mechanical aptitude which makes it easy for me to handle complex concrete machinery, especially during breakdowns.
What specific duties have you performed as a concrete pump operator in the past?
As a concrete pump operator, I have been responsible for driving pump-mounted trucks to construction sites, evaluating site conditions to determine courses of action, setting up the truck properly so that laborers have easy access to processed concrete, operating the pump to place concrete in the right places, and conducting routine maintenance and repair on the machinery and associated tools.
What part of the work so you like the most?
I love working in the great outdoors. And since I have excellent skills in working on construction sites, I like the fact that I can enjoy my work and not really think of it as actual work!
If you were asked to assist laborers in performing construction work when you are not too busy doing your own, how would you feel about it?
I wouldn’t mind lending a hand. While working at this position, I have come across many instances when I have had to assist construction workers. As I see it, by doing so, I am only learning another skill!
As far as personal attributes are concerned, what does a person working as a concrete pump operator require?
Physical dexterity is number one! In addition to this, one needs to be exceptionally good at handling the mechanics of concrete pump machines and possess great depth perception and safety awareness.
What do you do to ensure a safe work environment?
The one thing that I don’t do is go against the rules. I make sure that all safety precautions are taken at the site, and if I see that someone isn’t being diligent in safety matters, I encourage them to be.
