Letter of Interest for CNC Machinist

Updated on: December 1, 2019

Investigating possible opportunities in a company becomes easy if you know how to write a letter of interest.

If you are unsure if a particular organization has a vacancy, you can inquire by writing a letter of interest.

Letters of this sort are not usually written in response to an advertisement unless a prospective employer mentions explicitly in an ad that one needs to be submitted as part of the application process. In such a case, one can interchangeably use the terms cover letter and letter of interest.

Before you write a letter of interest, do your homework properly.

Find out all that you can about the organization where you want to work so that you can provide a reasonable purpose for your interest.

Make sure that you know the name of the person who has the highest chance of receiving your cover letter for review and address the letter to him or her directly.

A letter of interest should never be headed “to whom it may concern” – dear sir or dear madam may not be considered polite enough, so finding out the name of the person and addressing them directly is very important.

In a letter of interest, it is important to say what prompted your inquiry.

You may have been quite impressed with the company’s mission statement or merely wish to “work with the best.”
