The business of cover letter writing is one that requires a lot of attention. When you write a cover letter, your sole purpose is to impress the hiring manager into hiring you. Needless to say, the content of your cover letter needs to be absolutely perfect. By perfect, we mean that the content should be exactly as the hiring manager wants it.
To be able to write exactly what the hiring manager is expecting to read, it is necessary to read the job description first – particularly the one in the advertisement that the hiring manager’s company has given out. When you do this, you get a good idea of what is required from a candidate and you can easily put this information in your cover letter.
Now that we have established that relevance is key here, you must make sure that the words you use are neither too difficult to understand nor ordinary. Your choice of words should be impeccable. How you phrase your sentences is important – telling the hiring manager that you are not in it for the money only is imperative. Talk about how the work interests you and how you intend to make a difference. A little like this:

Dear Ms. Wine:
Owing to a wide array of skills in beauty salon management, training and operations, I am positive that I will be a great addition to your team in the role of Beauty Salon Manager. Presently, I am managing Nova Beauty Salon, which is the busiest beauty salon in Springfield – a feat that I can replicate at Beauty Behold.
Some of my most significant skills as a beauty salon manager include:
• First-hand experience in providing level-1 services to clients by ensuring that they are welcomed properly and provided with services that will ensure repeat business.
• Highly skilled in creating and implementing scheduling systems for clients and salon staff, aimed at ensuring operational smoothness.
• Track record of ensuring salon upkeep by assuring that facilities are well-maintained and ascertaining comfortable seating for clients in waiting areas.
Over the course of the last 12 months, I managed to increase Nova Beauty Salon’s client base by 55%, by employing word of mouth and conventional ways of marketing. If given a chance, I can replicate this at Beauty Behold too. Let’s meet in person so that I can provide you with a more detailed view of what I have to offer. I will be in touch with you and can be reached at (000) 744-1241.
