Patient Coordinator Job Scope

The work of a patient coordinator may be more administrative than medical even though he or she need to perform many medical tasks as well. Patient coordinators take medical history, patient symptoms and interpret test results for doctors. They need to have a strong background in medical field as the need to use medical terminology and software is quite high in this profession.

As part of their daily work duties, patient coordinators interact with patients on many levels. They provide them with education on medical procedures and also provide emotional support.
