Bakery Delivery Driver Interview Questions and Answers
What have been your prime duties while working as a bakery delivery driver?
I have been working as a bakery delivery driver for over 6 years now, and have been involved in transporting bakery goods to and from the bakery outlet. In addition to driving a delivery vehicle, I have been responsible for ensuring that proper routes are mapped, and that payments are obtained against each delivery. Moreover, it is my responsibility to ensure that assigned vehicles are properly serviced and maintained, and are in good repair.
How is working at this position different from working as a delivery driver in another capacity?
The work is more or less the same, no matter which capacity you are working in as a delivery driver. The difference is perhaps in the type of goods that a bakery delivery driver handles. Apart from that, the work is no different.
Do you think working as a bakery delivery driver is more challenging than when working in other capacities?
I believe that it may be a tad more challenging to work as a bakery delivery driver, as the responsibility for transporting perishable goods is more than that of any other.
Have you ever been in a situation where your mettle as a professional was truly tested?
The bakery that I was once working for gave me the wrong cake to deliver to a wedding. The customer was furious when she found out, and it took all the energy that I had to rush back and bring the right order, before the ceremony began.
How do you feel about working with other people?
I have to work with people on a daily basis, and I enjoy it quite highly. This includes driver helpers, bakery managers, and customers, with whom I develop a great rapport.
What is the one thing that you find exceptionally challenging about this work?
As a delivery driver for a bakery, perhaps the most difficult part is making sure that all orders are delivered on time, especially when there is a rush of orders. But with the right priorities, this is never a problem.
