Graphic Designer Cover Letter With No Experience

Updated on: June 19, 2020

You are applying for a graphic designer position but you have no experience in hand. The good news is that there is no need to worry. If you know the work, you can easily put it in your cover letter that you are capable of handling it.

However, you do need to make an effort to satisfy the hiring manager. This can be done by offering information about your skills in developing designs for a multitude of platforms.

Your knowledge of using the right tools such as Canva and Adobe Suite should be made obvious in your cover letter.

It is also important to understand what type of cover letter language to use.

Be extremely professional. Flowery language or slang is a complete no.

Dear Mr. Dawg:

Having recently acquired my associate’s degree in graphic design, I am now ready to contribute to Design Inc. in the capacity of a graphic designer. As someone who has strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality, I am positive that I am the right person to hire.

My main strength is the ability to determine design requirements, and then carefully follow instructions to create unique designs. Since I am an inherently aesthetically blessed individual, it is easy for me to imagine what a design would look like once it is printed and installed.

Some of my main skills as a graphic designer include:

  1. Knowledge of using modern tools including Adobe Creative Cloud programs, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop to create aesthetically pleasing designs.
  2. Effectively able to transform clients’ requirements into desired mediums.
  3. Exceptional ability to determine the message that each design should portray.
  4. Skilled in developing graphics for product illustrations, logos, and websites.
  5. Competent in creating designs that convey clients’ messages in an appropriate way.

To provide you with a more accurate picture of my professional profile in this regard, I will call your office soon to fix a meeting time. In the interim, please contact me at (000) 482-2993if you need any questions answered.

Thank you for considering my credentials for the Graphic Designer position at Design Inc. I look forward to learning more about this exciting opportunity.
