Metallurgist Cover Letter Sample

Updated on: May 10, 2022

All cover letters don’t bring positive results. It all depends on how well one is written.

What is the definition of “well-written”?

Cover letters have a purpose, and if they successfully fill that purpose, they are considered well-written. It is quite simple.

Giving a hiring manager what he or she wants in a cover letter is what will guarantee its success.

Writing a Metallurgist cover letter is no big deal if you have all the information that you need at hand.

This means that the more you research about a prospective employer, the better your chances of writing a rocking cover letter.

If you know exactly what it is that a hiring manager is looking for in a future employee, you will be able to tweak your cover letter to meet those requirements.

Not performing research will mean your cover letter ends up being run of the mill, to say the least.

Mr. Mark Nelson
Human Resource Manager
Barrick Gold Corporation
855 Atherton Road
Canoga Park, CA 54782

Dear Mr. Nelson:

I am writing to offer my expertise to Barrick Gold Corporation in the role of a Metallurgist. With great insight into supporting and performing metallurgical functions, and assisting in the day-to-day leadership of the metrology lab to ensure accurate methodology of production parts and tooling, I would be a great contributor.

Over the past few years, I have been working in a wide array of areas, involving chemical, physical, and process metallurgy. I lead ABC Company’s major metallurgic projects for over 6 years, where I developed competencies in:

  • Designing and controlling processes to separate metals from ore
  • Performing corrosion testing and monitoring
  • Developing novel ways to improve metals by making them sturdier
  • Testing metals to ensure that they meet quality and safety standards

Not only am I experienced in this arena, but have exceptional insight into assessing the physical nature and structure of popularly used metals, and have been called upon quite often to investigate accidents, where suspected causes may be related to the metallurgic failure.

Anticipating contributing in a similar capacity to your organization, I would like to meet with you in person and elaborate on my skills and experience. I will contact you soon to set a meeting and can be reached at (000) 111-8546 for any further information that may be required.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Susan Parker
