To be perfectly honest, you can pretty much write anything you want to in a cover letter, provided that it edicts information that a hiring manager is looking forward to reading. Your skills, qualifications, and accomplishments are what a hiring manager wants to know, and if you can outline these in a cover letter, you pretty much have a great chance to be considered for a position.
