CNA Resignation Letter Sample

Is it time to move on from your present CNA job?
Have you obtained another job offer that you cannot refuse?
Are you moving to another city or state?
Do you want to take a break from work?
Are you burnt out?

In any of the situations mentioned above, the first thing that comes to mind is writing a resignation letter to inform your current employer about your decision to leave.

How to Write a Professional CNA Resignation Letter?

First of all, CNA resignation letters are quite easy to write. You just want to move on but would still like to be polite and professional.

In fact, it is professional etiquette to give notice of your intention to leave so that the employer would be able to arrange your replacement.

To Whom Should You Address a CNA Resignation Letter

Address your CNA resignation letter to your supervisor. The term of notice needs to be clearly spelled out and how you intend to train your replacement can be mentioned too.

The following 2 CNA resignation letter samples will help you get a better idea.

Ms. Nancy Carson
Nurse Manager
Christiana Care
564 Bess Drive
Ketchikan, AK 80003

Dear Ms. Carson:

Please accept my resignation from my position as a certified nursing assistant for Christiana Care on 2-weeks’ notice, effective May 12.

This is the biggest decision that I have probably made in my life. Starting as an intern and climbing up the ladder to the position of a CNA was a fantastic journey that I made at this facility. It is, in fact, quite hard to believe that I will not be working here soon.

As I previously mentioned, I have developed a rare form of rheumatoid arthritis and have discussed the implications with you a number of times as well. The cold weather in Ketchikan is adding to my misery. Consequently, I have had to make a life-altering decision to move to Lexington, NC where the weather is less fierce. I have made arrangements to move at the end of next month.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into making me worthy of handling the needs of patients. If there is any other staff member that you want me to hand over my responsibilities, please feel free to let me know. If you do not have any replacement in mind, I believe Norma Dutch will be the best person to take charge.

Thank you for providing me with training and mentorship throughout my tenure.

Sincerely,

Ms. Abigail Leroy
Nursing Manager
St. Louis Family Health Clinic
7736 Bellflower Ct
Toms River, NJ 11123

Dear Ms. Leroy:

I am writing to inform you of my decision to resign from the Certified Nursing Assistant on 2 weeks’ notice, effective May 12.

It makes me sad to leave such a rewarding job through which I have learned very much. Your leadership and advice took my career to new heights of professionalism. I genuinely wish to find some way I could continue, but I have some family matters back in Boston, and I have no choice but to leave at this point.

The guidance and training you provided in the patient care arena will help me contribute to the well-being of patients.

I will hand over all my work to whomever you consider right to replace me. Rest assured that I will complete any pending work before I leave.

Thank you once again for your guidance and support throughout my tenure at St. Louis Family Health Clinic. I look forward to working with you again if provided with a chance in the future.

Sincerely,
