What is the single most important skill that a freight associate is expected to possess?
I believe that there really is no one skill that a freight associate should possess. The set of skills that one needs includes a long list. I believe that one has to be a jack of all trades if one wants to work at this position.
And what skills set do you possess that makes you an excellent person to hire as a freight associate?
I am a thoroughly enthusiastic and competent individual who has demonstrated experience in handling incoming shipments. In addition to this, I am physically strong which means that I can easily pick up, hold and carry 100lbs of weight. Furthermore, I have exceptional knowledge of handling stocking and inventory management duties, all of which make me an excellent contender to work as a freight associate.
As far as forklift operations are concerned, what are your specific qualifications and experience?
I hold a current forklift operation license and have used the forklift to move merchandise from one place to another for over 5 years now. Additionally, I have deep knowledge of maintaining and performing minor repairs on forklifts when required.
Do you like working in a warehouse environment? Why or why not?
I love working in a warehouse environment. The atmosphere and my work particularly offer a lot of challenges, and I look forward to dealing with a different one each day.
Does the physical part of working as a freight associate bother you?
It doesn’t. I know that the work of a freight associate is physically demanding but if one times oneself, and takes appropriate breaks, it actually beats joining a gym!
As far as inventory management is concerned, what is your experience?
As a freight associate, inventory management is an everyday thing for me. I am well-versed in managing inventory levels, sounding alerts during low stock instances, and creating and maintaining liaison with suppliers to ensure prompt delivery of merchandise.
